Homer,

Enjoyed the read. I was out in the same area Saturday fishing around Lover's Key. Had a nice time but didn't catch much. My 8-year old caught a 26" snook, which we released. I hooked one shortly after he caught his but it broke my line.

I've done that trip many times in a canoe and made it all the way out the river and across the bay to Lover's Key. It is a long haul and very tough paddling when you come back up the river and the tide is going out.

Thanks for sharing. Have you made any more trips?
