New Design : Pay Your Rent Online

I was asked to design and build a page that would allow a person to pay their rent online. It was pretty straight forward and the client pretty much said have at it. Instead of just going the basic route, I figured I’d have a little fun with this and give them a bit more for their money

I built the site using XHTML, script.aculo.us, and PHP. The layout is home grown except for the icons which I picked up from istockphoto a while back.

The client wanted to use PayPal to collect the funds so that made it extremely easy to bang something out in couple of hours.

The Idea

When the user gets to the screen they will see the information box in its collapsed form. From here they can click on the “Pay Now” button and pay their rent.

If the user wants to send an email to their landlord, clicking on the “send us a note” will fire off the slide function and slide the information box revealing an email form.

For kicks I even created an iPhone icon for the page in the event the tenant wants to pay via their mobie.
